How are we different at Balaned Health Chiropractic?

Have you dealt with the same nagging issue over and over again?  What would you do with your day/life if you didn’t have to deal with it anymore!!??⠀

Health is so much more than how you feel. It is about how your body functions!

  • ▪️Are you able to move like you were once able to?
  • ▪️Are you able to do all the hobbies that you love?
  • ▪️Can you sit down and play with your kids or grandkids without being in pain?
  • ▪️Or can you concentrate all day at work without having a headache or mid back pain?
  • ▪️Do you have enough energy to get through your day?

Not all chiropractors are alike. Although they go by the same name, chiropractors today differ greatly. As a result, when patients go to different chiropractors they get different opinions, care provided, and results. This can be both confusing and frustrating. Let me tell you a little bit about what we do and our unique approach to health!

Most of the time, people wait to see if a problem will go away on its own, in the meantime degeneration in the spine is happening leading on the path of disease. Secondary Conditions or also called symptoms are the signs that something underneath isn’t working right. Many people have some sort of pain or secondary condition and this is very common and not normal. You do not have to live with pain or avoid things you love to do.

The problem has started long before your symptoms start to show up and even longer before it starts to interrupt your day. It is most of the time not from sleeping wrong, or lifting something too heavy or sitting for long periods. Yes, these things contribute to an underlying issue but it all stems from the spine long before your back flairs up. Don’t wait too long for it to create bigger issues!

I can’t stress enough, it is so much easier to maintain the health of your spine rather than fix it later after months or even years of having an issue.

There are many quick fix options out there to feel better. Usually by the time people reach our office they have tried ALL OF THEM (chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapist, stretching on their own, ice, heat) and they still feel like they are exactly where they started or worse.

Here at our office, we don’t want to only focus on getting rid of your symptoms we are focused on —> CORRECTIVE CARE!!! We do a detailed exam and specific adjustments to correct the primary issue in your body causing you issues. Once these primary areas are corrected your body starts to not only feel better but function better!!

We look at the foundation, the structure and how to fix your issue as a whole. It isnt always exactly where you feel pain. With our exam we are able to find areas that are causing your issues and get it fixed instead of just patching the issue.

Neurostructural chiropractic is a long term solution. We work on correcting any primary conditions in the spine and that makes it so you don’t have to deal with the same issues over and over again. It doesn’t take much to get out of pain but to keep it corrected is what our goals are for people to create a healthier lifestyle.

We do an extensive exam that shows you exactly where your problem areas are. We utilizing structural radiographs, nervous system functional exam, and a structural analysis in an effort to detect and correct the structural abnormalities that are the cause of your secondary conditions. We focus on correcting your foundation which keeps you from dealing with the same issues over and over again.

After your exam, its time to get adjusted. We use the nervoscope at each visit with your xrays pulled up to take care of you. The nervoscope measures temperature at the spine and picks up the area that needs to be adjusted. Which yes, it might not be exactly where you feel it so this is how we can be specific and precise with our adjustments.

Many patients like to come for regular adjustments to maintain and take care of their health in a proactive way. It keeps their body in its best shape. It helps your body adapt to daily life stressors – physical, chemical (food and environment toxins), emotional (stress). Patients not only feel better but their bodies are functioning at their best! We take pride in our detailed and specific care! ⠀

Why do we seem to always put our own health last? After your kids, after you get this or that done at home, after your job? There’s one thing about health and our perspective on it. None of us, including myself sometimes appreciate where

our health is at until it starts to decline or interrupt your normal day. Let’s change that!!

Do you struggle with dealing with any of these secondary conditions listed below?

Creamed Corn Orzo with Salmon

Ingredients

Seared Salmon

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 skinless salmon fillets – skin removed
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

Creamed Corn Orzo

  • 4 garlic cloves – minced
  • 1 yellow onion – finely chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 sprigs of thyme – more for serving
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 3 ears corn
  • 2 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • chili flakes for serving – optional

Instructions

  • Get your prep done before you start cooking. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, garlic powder and Cajun seasoning. Grate the Parmesan, finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Shuck the corn, removing the husks and silks. Cut each cob in half to get 2 equal parts. Hold a halved ear of corn upright on your cutting board. Use a large sharp knife to shave the corn kernels from the cob, working in long strips down towards the bottom.(I used frozen corn)
  • Heat oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium high in a large nonstick pan or skillet. Add salmon fillets and sear, 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and onion. Cook until soft and fragrant for about 2 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper and thyme leaves. Add orzo and corn kernels, toast for 1 minute.
  • Pour in broth and bring to a boil. To maintain a simmer, reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook uncovered while stirring frequently to keep the orzo from sticking, until almost al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in Parmesan. Next add cream and lemon juice, simmer for 2 minutes. Return salmon to the skillet and simmer everything for 2-3 more minutes or until the salmon is heated through.
  • Top with thyme, black pepper and chili flakes. Enjoy!
  • I kept it all seperated, corn, orzo and salmon for my family because the kids wouldn’t have tried it together. They loved it!
